My Flu Jab

My Flu Jab

Today I got my flu jab, I was very nervous. So my Sister, my Mum and I got into the car and were talking about how sore it was going to be. My Dad said that he would give my Sister and I $10 each if we were brave.

When we arrived at the doctors we had to wait about 5 mins before the doctors came out... When the doctors arrived at our car we put our window down and the doctors gave my Mum a form to fill out for our flu jab, my Sister has to have a flu jab twice a year and I only have to have it once a year.

Then we had to wait another 5 mins for the doctors to come out... When they came out this time we saw them with a yellow lolly pop, and they had the flu jab in their hands. Then we opened the door and the doctors had to clean our arm before they give the injection.

...then the doctors gave us the lolly pop and told us to suck on it while they give the injection, and before I knew it, it was already done and I hardly even felt it. Then the doctors quickly put a plaster on it. It didn't even hurt, so whenever you get one you know now that it doesn't hurt.

I hope you enjoyed this story.

  1. Hi Max,
Yes, I did enjoy reading your story and I could feel your nervousness through your fabulous detailed writing.
The waiting is the hardest part, well, I think it is. Hope you and Eden got the $10 each. The money and a lollypop to suck on, makes having a flu injection much more pleasant.
    Well done Max.

  3. Thanks Max for sharing this story. It is reassuring to know that it was not such an awful experience. The bit I enjoyed the most was ' before I knew it it was already done and I hardly even felt it'. Great personal voice. Ka pai!
